Before renting an apartment or house in Chengdu, you need figure out whether you need Fapiao or not.
Many companies require Fapiao for rental payment/remittance which is strictly needed by Finance Department.
Property rental tax is not strictly collected in Chengdu.
Property owners only cares about their net rental income.
If you wanna owner provide Tax Fapiao for you, it is no problem, but owners will raise equivalent tax amount to the rental .
If you do not Fapiao, both sides could ignore tax amount.
Tax issue should be detailed before contract signed, as owners will acquiesce you do not need Fapiao if you do not request.
If you wanna Fapiao after contract signed, you need pay tax yourself.
Tax rate details in Chengdu:
增值税普通发票 VAT Normal Fapiao：
- 5% Rent Amount lower than 30,000 Rmb/Month
- 7% Rent Amount higher than 30,000 Rmb/Month includes 30,000 Rmb/Month
增值税专用发票 VAT Special Fapiao：7%
NOTES： All hotels and service apartments could provide Fapiao without additional tax charges.
